If you decide to have it fixed, I just had the speedo on my 87 repaired. The aftermarket versions are cheap but didn't do it for me. Let me know if you need his info, he is in Georgia.

Well I did fix it myself but in doing so,I apparently moved the sensitive spring around too much and the needle for mph is not going to function properly. Dealer has new Speedo available still for $200 ....should be in on Thursday. I'm running my aftermarket one for now,thirties style with white face,that will be my spare once again.
