Who makes the best starter for a softail Evo... For the last 2 1/2 years Ive been having way to may issues and am thinking maybe it's the cheepo Starters I've been using. no name china crap... I always figured a starter is a starter but I guess not....
Actually it doesn't have to be the best but very good and reliable.... I'm not running a stock Primary.. It's a after market Baker SBD, belt drive..

Have had the same 1.4 All ***** starter on my engines for 9 years, on the 2nd All ***** starter clutch so it isn't bullet proof but still a tuff one. 89" was on the edge with no compression releases, the big one took a clutch out when pumped up, no problems since then after pulling the compression back and has compression releases but still kicks back a little sometimes.
What about Spyke starters? I like the way the mount looks (solid less chance of moving around). Does anyone know if the All ***** and the Spyke are made in the USA?
