Hey all. Trying to wrap up the rebirth of my 97 flht. My right front caliper is fubar. I guess the last time I did brakes, I did not have the pins that hold the inner bracket to the outer caliper body lined up when I tightened it and the pin and the female part that the pin goes into are bent way out of shape.
I bought a couple used calipers off eBay and they are totally pitted inside and it looks like there is silicon in them.
So.......I know that people here have upgraded to Twinkie calipers and adapter brackets. Can anyone point me to a thread, or lay some knowledge on me about the Twinkie caliper conversion?
Im finishing the super e install tomorrow and hope to get it running, all I need to do is get the front brakes sorted and Ill be back on the EVO!
It's just a simple bikers choice adapter bracket. The downside for you would be you either have to rebuild the Caliper when you get a used one to run dot 5, or you will be needing a compatible brake master cylinder and new line

That was what steered me away from that approach a few years ago. By the time you get the bracket, an eBay caliper, and the rebuild kit, you're most of the way toward paying for a Wilwood GP310 anyway.

+1 on the Wilwood GP310. Got mine off Amazon and it is such a dramatic improvement over the single piston stock caliper that came on my FXR. Worth every penny of the $240 I paid, and a direct bolt up as well.

Omaha, when you installed the gp310s were you able to use your stock length cable?
