One of my kids (they never owned up) put a small dent in my front fender in tge garage... anytime Im riding behind a particular friend, he always comments: you go up front, Im tired of seeing that dent in my rearview mirror
Had a nice dent on the front fender of the '90 glide, youtubed paintless dent repair, made a couple tools, dent be gone.
It's not so much the thickness of the metal, but whether you have access and something adequate to pry against to work the dent out.
Here's what I did. Mine was just a tiny chip, but I am extremely ****. I went up to HD and asked who did their paint work. They didn't hesitate to give me their guy's number. Turns out he does all of their trade-in with minor paint flaws. Anyways, he did a "spot" repair by blending just that tiny area with factory paint and clear coat. Absolutely perfect match and undetectable. Don't let anyone tell you the fender has to come off in order to do it right.....I almost fell for that from a local body shop.
My name is Crash, dents come with the territory.
When I got married I said I wanted 2 kids, first one would be named Rusty second one would be named Dent. That way I'd always have a little Rusty Dent running around.
Really pick up a paintless dent remover on eBay, use a heat gun to warm up the paint and metal and have at it.
I had a dent in the tank that I couldn't pull out with glue tabs. Needed a brazed on tab with a dent puller to get most of it out. Filled in and repainted. Tanks are thick and hard to work on.
I have a dent in my fender that I'm gonna try to pull out, it might work. If it doesn't it can easily be pushed out by removing the fender and working it with a hammer and plastic punch.
Worst case just remove your fender and take it to a pro dent guy. He'll probably have it done in a few minutes.
