Two weeks ago had problems with spark. New plugs and new plug wires. Checked power to coil and found no power. Added new wire from coil to ignition switch. Started and ran fine.
Lost power on ride. Checked coil, have 12+ volts. Plugs seem dirty for how new they are. (Just replaced jets and cleaned carb)
I don’t know how to test the coil, do I take in it to be tested or do I just start with a new ignition coil or do I start with a new ignition module? (Dyna twin fire II coil, unsure of module, not factory)

The FSM (Factory Service Manual) has a test procedure for testing the coil.
That said I had a coil that passed all the tests but still wouldn't spark.
I replaced it with an aftermarket coil and it's doing fine to this day.
My thought is this
If its the original stuff its old and antiquated.
Toss it all and go get a fresh ignition module..
There are several available.
There is several available.
I like Daytona T,T
It brings several options all same price.
Ultima Electronic Ignition Kits...complete with coil wires and ignition...dual or single fire, multiple advance settings, and rev limiter settings..
I use them all the time in all the builds I send out.
