Default "HotRod" On The Road Again...

Went upstate Tuesday night to pick up my Bike at Scott's first thing in the morning...He Dyno tuned it for me as well as attending to the crank main seal.. I couldn't get it to stop leaking. I put in 2 new seals and couldn't contain the leak.. He did thank god.... Thank you Scott... So I get home but couldn't take it out because of the rain. So washed all the road grime of a 300 mile trip and rain storm after rain storm... Wasn't to happy about that but i had no other way of getting it home.... Man water got into places I didn't think was possible... So after washing it, I blew everything out with shop air that I possible could and let it sit over night hoping everything else would dry out. even the circuit breakers had water in them. Little tip, if you don't have to trailer in the rain be patient and wait for a little better weather.

So this morning I went to check it out and see if it would start. Sure did, everything must have dried up pretty good. It fired right up.. After a little more cleaning I downloaded all the info on the Wego and was able to see a dyno pull. Might be running a tad lean up top but Scott said that he liked what he saw and tried to improve on it but any change he made didn't make much of a difference so he put back in the jetting I had put in based on my Wego. So I cleared the buffer and took it for a short ride.. Man I gotta tell ya, this thing goes through the gears like nothing. For those of you with the Wego software you can check out my 2 runs. File 6-6.1-18 is a short 5 mile trip I made today and file 6-6-18me is the data with the dyno pull which is viewable at 1468 seconds. I think it's a tad lean from 4200-6k. That's where the Thunder-Jet starts to come in. It's a 135. I might go to a 140. Might explain the little dip at 4100 and 5100 on the Dyno Chart, at both rpm's the AFR went to 14.6

In the second chart 6-6.1-18 I took it for a little ride and am very pleased with the results...

As for everything else I think I'm just gonna leave it alone... It's running very strong.....

Congrats on getting your bike on the road, but I am confused. Motorcycles are designed to be ridden in rain. I can relate to the cleanup...it sucks! But rain or water intrusion causing a no-start or something shouldn't be a concern.

Thanks, It's not that it didn't start. I just didn't want to attempt till it dried out a little... All the spray from the truck hammered it..

Also Nice job on the AC upgrade.. Looks clean....

Hey Bob, I know your glad to get your bike back. Those look like some pretty smooth power and torque curves to me. I looked at your graphs and think I see where you think it might be a bit lean.......I think. I'm just beginning to make sense out of looking at my own! Well no carb work for me tonite, they gave me 3/8 instead of 5/16 set screws so its another stop at the hardware store tomorrow.
