That is indicating a lean condition which may be caused by leaking intake manifold seals, accelerator pump issues. When replacing the intake manifold seals it would be a good time to do a rebuild kit and check the float level for proper setting. How are the spark plugs and wires?

Popping out the carb is usually a vacuum leak...could be the intake...could be the hoses routed to the VOES or petcock...or either could have a bad diaphragm.
I am going to get a CV rebuild kit as suggested. The bike had beef sitting for 8yrs prior to restoring last year. I never touched the carb other than new air intake. Seals should probably be replaced. I appreciate the input.
