What size screws to replace rivets on points cover?

A rivet tool is one of those things everyone should have. You probably won't use it much, but when you need it, nothing else will do.

i used 10-24 allen heads. tapped the rivet hole, went to the neighborhood hardware store and got 2, 10-24 aliens a half inch long. it has been about 10 years now and haven't had the screws out until now to see what size they were.
