Default True Track

For anyone currently using the True track system : after looking carefully at the model designed for my 1988 FLHS, I"m going to attempt to make my own version ( $ 400 for my year, worth it but funds are tight.) I have access to every type of machinery that might be needed to fab this up but one thing I can't deduce from the photos is the mounting tangs for the adjustable rod on the plate that bolts to the frame cross member. The whole thing looks to be a machined billet piece, but do those mounting tangs for the adjustable rod swivel? That would make this much more difficult than if they were fixed.

Mine (store-bought)
Has a piece that replaces the steel picot cover for swing arm on the right side.
Another bracket that bolts to the bottom of the oil pan.
They are connected by an adjustable hemi joint.
SO yes you could make it for a lot less.
You will need to weld a spot on the swing arm bracket with a nut to accept a bolt from the hemi joint.
You will need to fabricate a bracket that bolts to the oil pan or transmission-I forget which.
I would say pretty simple.

Sorry but I'm not taking mine off! It's so long (over ten years) since I installed it I don't recall exactly what it looks like. It works and is worth every penny. Just hold off for a few weeks until you can afford a new one.....

I'm fabricating myself a rear one as well, I'm planning to buy a Predator for the front which has a build in stabilizer as well. Anywho, I'm going for a Sputhe like stabilizer, and looks pretty do-able. Since I can TIG weld stainless steel at home, mine is gonna be a stainless one. So maybe this one helps:

It's for a Dyna. I had a FXDXT to which I installed a T-T kit, which didn't look quite as bad as that, but not so very much different! It did however transform the bike's ride and handling.

But, if HD had put that much R&D in the first place.............
I have a third link of sorts with all rebuilt swing Arm and the other mounts
It is the most stable platform I have ever been on.
My Gold Wing respond to cracks and snakes - not the RK

Truth is they did - I have checked out their original patents and they show all three links. Erik Buell is creditted with designing the Harley system and all the bikes bearing his brandname have that set-up. Unfortunately someone within H-D, when putting their Touring bikes into production, decided to omit that critical rear link. The current Sportsters all have three links, just like the Buells.

All my V-twins have three stabilizers!

Oh, sry bout that, I thought we were talking about Dyna's, but an FLHS is a low rider/touring bike, right?
(still need to get my abbreviations straight)
