Does anyone here have a factory pic of a '92 (or close to it) Fatboy Tachometer? I've searched the Internet and couldn't really find much out there. I've attached an E-Bay link below with what seems to be the correct era tachometer:
The other questions would be - Would this be mounted on the handlebars, and what type of mounting bracket would be used based on the holes in the current mounting bracket on this actual tach? Wanted to make sure this one would work before pulling the trigger on it.
If I remember right, Fat-Boys did not have tachs. You can install a tach, but you would need to modify the tins on the handlebar clamp to install that particular bracket, then connect and route the wires accordingly. I have that set-up on my FXWG. My front-end lacks the tins, and I run drag-bars, so it was an easy install. My top handlebar clamp forward bolts fit perfectly with the lower most bolt holes on the hooded tach bracket (4.25" eye-hole to eye-hole). Anything can be done (chopped) depending on how you want your ride to look.------------RJ
Edit: Just saw the pix on your ride. You would need to get pulled-back risers, and drag-bars to use that specific bracket/tach set-up. Another bracket may be out there that you could use, but if you were to use that e-bay set-up, you would need risers to mount that tach bracket.

Joe: Thanks for the reply. Do you have any pics of your set-up? Bear with me, as I am a newbee, but needed more clarification on "risers to mount the tach bracket".

They're getting harder to find.. I have 2 dead ones. They both need a new potentiometer.. they are 2 5/8". Called a mini tach.. usually they mount to the 2 upper bolts on the bar clamp or you get the entire upper clamp ....
Yep, that is the one (or very similar) I saw out there on E-Bay. I would just need to try and find the mounting bracket that goes on the handlebars. Anyone have a part number for the mounting bracket?
The difference between your 92 and 96-up is in the electrical connectors. Your 92 uses Amp/Molex connectors and 96 and later uses Deutsch connectors.
With th a bit of work and a mating connector half, you can adapt a later tach.
