Lots of us have been there! The replacement looks similar yet different, because I suspect they have used a better potting compound which is more durable than the melting variety.

There is a good reason for replacing your entire ignition system with the Dynatek 2000i. The stock ignition module uses advance curves designed to meet EPA regulations, not optimum ones. If you swap over to a Dynatek you should enjoy improved performance and general ride quality, while replacing your old pickup.

Dynatek, Ultima, and Twin Tec are the only ones that are worth a damn the rest are junk.
The Ultima is a Chinese knock off of the Dynatek and is*supposed to be a good unit but I buy American where I can.

Actually the reverse is true, as I explain above! Aftermarket gives us better advance curves than the stock module. A cheap tune-up!

A friend bought the Ultima couple years ago and did what it supposed to do. Easy install and a cheap solution.

Yeah it's a cheaper fix up, but you don't have the opportunity to tune up if you have or is going to change cam/intake, different muffler etc.
