I bought an aftermarket turn signal integrated license plate.

As you can see the two wires for the taillight are the only two wires coming to the plug (plug hidden by hose).
Also, what kind of swingarm is this?

You have to locate the TSM. I don't see it there.

The swingarm can only be something aftermarket, although I've never seen one like that before. All that wiring looks pretty stock to me, take a look under the other side cover, to see what is hidden under that.

Underneath that rubber hose is a plug, on the opposite side only two wires are connected. Those two go to the brake light. You can see them to the right of the picture. Seems to me he disconnected the wires all the way back to that plug and removed them. I have a 91 Service manual arriving in a few days then I'll know for sure.

Thanks for all the replies.

You should only have 2 wires going to the tail/brake light. Red = Brake Light GN (Green) = Tail Light

Your turn signal wires should be BK (Black). The Right should have a Brown tag and the Left should have a Violet tag.

Both the tail/brake light assembly and both turn signal assemblies ground to the fender / frame when bolted to the bike.

The wire colors change at the 6 pin connector which is usually located toward the front of the rear fender. The link I posted shows all this & more in the wiring diagram for the 1991 FXR (page 100)

Thanks for all the help guys. My service manual came in today and it's in fantastic shape, actually, it's like new. Not bad for $35.00
Now I have something to go by.
