Default Frame mod, lower seat area.

Other then structure (got it covered) what are the caveats of lowering the seat area?
1994 RK to be exact.
With the new batteries, there is a lot more room.'
In fact, the battery I now use is tiny!
I think it is 6 inches long.3 inches wide, and perhaps 5 inches high and weighs 3 lbs!
HD sells a bolt in piece that does this (or perhaps it is after market-cant remember ) for the newer bikes.
My bike is always going through changes.
Being I am getting up in (ahem) age it would be nice to have a little more leg command at the stops.
I run like a full dresser with fairing and trunk.
I think this will be next project after I get the engine resorted..again.

You could flip the swing arm. Mines been that way for 14 years with no ill affects to the swing arm. You'll have to work on the shock adjustment if you're running air shocks. I put some late model on with the higher pressure and it works ok for us. It's stiffer than noon flipped, we're a little over 300 lbs 2 up. Check your wires and bolts under the fender if you do it.

The photos give you an idea of the ride height. Speed bumps need attention but other than that I don't normally scrape unless I really lay into a curve.

Great idea about the S.A.
We are a quite a bit more HVy.
I think full travel is needed
Plus If I lowed the seat , she could see around over my head a little more EZ.
That would be a plus too.

Nope not getting rid of the bike.
It is a 1994 and we have been everywhere WITHOUT a freekin trailer...
I just keep changing it to suit my needs, in this case, to suit my knees.
I have so many mods on this i dont want to start again.
For this year it gets BDL belt drive, 2017 Street glide tin instead for a paint job.
I dont want to screw up what is now getting to be original HD black and silver.

I like Green

I figure whilst at it perhaps drop the seat area.
This would get me dwn and into it .
With the new fairing which is slightly different than the old bat win,g there would be a little more protection.

Perhaps one more point on the kool factor too,?.. but I am not much for giving one crap what people think.

The paint job on your tank is so good we can't see it properly because of all the reflections! Is it a 6 gallon tank, as part of your later set of tins?

It is whatever comes on a 2015 SG
I think it is slightly bigger.
It is a stock HD collor afaik.
The whole set cost me less than a paint job done by me ,under a grand.

It'll be a 6 gallon one, similar to the 2009 one I have on my Evo Glide. You may find it is a challenge to install, simply because it doesn't have the same cutaways in the underside. A US gallon is almost exactly a 6" cube, which they have managed to squeeze in, hence the new tank is a little longer, has less cut-outs underneath, also the top surface is bowed upwards a little. All very subtle stuff, giving us a familiar look, but by no means identical to the old 5 gallon tank. You will need a suitable console as well. Let us know what you find and I may be able to offer some tips.
