Easy, Try curve 2 if no ping good. If ping, go to curve 3. Hotter summer temps equal pings. With your set up proly also try retarding a 1/2 hair. Also, Run compression test if your up around 200+ lbs you proly at 3rd curve all ready.

The squish is probably the most important when deciding what timing curve to use. The smaller the squish the more advance the motor can handle without detonation. In your case start with the 3 and go from there. Install New plugs and do a 50-60 mile run with 93 octane fuel and the pull the plugs and look for signs of detonation on the porcelain insulator down in the plug. It'll look like pepper sprinkles. Sometimes you'll need a magnifying glass... Note: living up hear in NY this time of year will not give you a good indication as to where you will be because of the cooler temps right now. So definitely use curve three and run the motor a little fat on the fuel till spring or summer comes around..

590 cam is pretty big. I dont know much about that cam but it could be a low end ping problem. I always went for a mid range cam on lighter bike to have good bottom end Tq.

That’s what I thought when it was recommended, but Revolution Performance swears by it and I’m happy with it.

Yea I actually have it pretty rich now, I set it up on curve 3 and started it, It was still a little cold blooded, but not as bad as it was plus it’s freezing out, so far I’m happy, I’ll take out Sunday and put some miles on it.Where in NY are you.

I'd start with curve 2 and if you get pinging then go to 3.
It's real easy to change curves.

.590 valve throw is a lot, especially with a short trunion to push rod ratio. Gotta watch valve lateral movement (wear) often.

GM learned this with their LS7 engine....

Took it for a blast today, very noticeable difference on startup and throttle response, I actually had to turn the idle down a touch.
