Why wouldn’t I like a Dyna? Never ridden one so, I’m curious.

You do realize they are two way different bikes right?
Ride height, gearing, riding position...etc

First generation Dyna's made me feel like I was sitting on top of a post. Seat was high up and felt somewhat top heavy.

I am 5'9". My pants inseam is 29", probably 30 to 31 to the ground.

Nothing wrong with those bikes, but if you are on the short side, they can be a bit challenging

They felt more top heavy than a touring bike of the same year.

They felt a lot taller than the FXR that they replaced even though on paper there wasn't that much difference in seat height.

I have driven EVO Softails and Dynas.
And the vibes on the EVO Softails on long runs made me buy a EVO Dyna (FXDWG).

Nice looking bike there:

If that's what you like get it just realize that they are nothing a like.
Softail at 70 in 5th is around 2500 rpms and a Dyna at 70 is like 3500 rpms.
The Dyna is a great bike for going fast in the twisties but personally I don't like the ride.

Then again what you ride is all about personal preference isn't it?
