Those that know me in the Evo section can vouch but here goes.. I'll just classify in terms of motor teardowns. 2 times for new cranks (2) sheared crank pin once (should have heard that clatter. Still ran though). 3 times for collapsed lifters. 4 times for Piston upgrades, 5 different camshafts...2 S$S carbs 3 valve jobs. Last one was major combustion chamber redesign for 30*angle tops (new heads)... 2 trans and finally went with a basket OD6. Baker primary belt drive, had that thing off more times than I changed underwear... Had starter drive and ring gear issues. Upgraded rear to a chain broke 2 belts... Had the race for the sprocket shaft replaced in the left case. And motor is still not good, just recently purchased a new S$S set for cases and will be starting that rebuild in 2 weeks... There's plenty more but I think you get the idea.... All because MoPower......... Tired of working on it
TD Do you think your gonna work on that easily ????
It looks like what we called a Connie around. Concours are great bikes but not near as easily serviced as an HD
WP
Howdy WP! I really don't know a bunch about the Concours.......SO, I can't answer your question.........
@98hotrodfatboy
you’re either a crazy **** with a F’d up right wrist reflex issue. Or the Evo is really a crappy motor.
Something tells me you’re one of those who likes to push engines beyond their limiits to see if the qualify your abusive tendencies LOL. Then you buy parts you know are better than stock but you break those too.
You think a BMW might be a better choice? (;

Here in the UK Harleys are in a small minority, compared with other brands, BMW being very popular. I've owned both brands alongside each other for umpteen years and wrote an article a few years ago, for a bike club we belong to, comparing their relative reliability based on my own experience. The BMW didn't win. But then I don't have 98's right wrist......

A little of both I think.... Thank you..... Yeah I don't think the stock case and crank of an Evo (for reliability) is any good over the 90/90 build.... And yes I used to have a very heavy right...... a couple of years ago I had it up to 137 in 5th and decided to back down.... Still had 6th to go... Not as bad anymore..... It just ain't worth it.....
