Those bikes have some collectabilty...but are not highly sought after like a pan or knuck...

NADA for very good condition is $6440 ...you would need to get special insurance(agreed value), or you would get screwed if it was totaled or stolen...

No Harley newer than a gennie shovel is selling for what they used to...since "the crash"

It ain't the 90's anymore where used bikes were selling for obscene amounts of money.

Most Evo's are going for between $3,500 and $5,500.

Springers fetch a couple of thousand more than whatever a standard model of the same bike sells for. Same goes for CVO's (called Screamin Eagle at the time).

In other words, it's a very cool bike but sell it for ten grand to whoever wants to pay that much for it and buy yourself a gently used Evo for $4,000.

I called my insurance company, Progressive, 2 days ago and asked about rates for bikes tagged as "historic", since that is what I just changed my 1985 FXWG to.
They don't offer special rates for "historic" tagged bikes, but it did come up in the conversation that they don't have guidelines for valuing older bikes, so they used agreed value. I don't recall doing anything special to come up with an agreed value, other than maybe me telling them what I wanted it valued at. They reminded me that my 85 FXWG, and my 76 FLH, each have an agreed value of $8k.
I only mention this because I don't feel like I have "special" insurance, in fact it's the very same policy that covers my 2011 FLHX and my 2005 AIH LSC. Not sure how other insurance companies work with older bikes.

The only way I know that you can prove value over NADA is with receipts of upgrades.... Got that straight from my Carrier...

With Progressive, I did no such thing, and we have an agreed value.

Update ... I will be selling the Gray Ghost for $12,000. Appreciate the feedback gang , but I think you have to accept the fact that certain bikes are collectible and valuable...

you found that one buyer that really wanted it, and he'll probably be very happy with it.
I wouldn't go as far as to say that is the new value of that type of bike, but you did good.

Unless you're selling it to fund your mother's surgery, I still think you're nuts.
