1994 Road King, Ingition Switch?
Cleaned it up, moved the contacts around and put two fresh ones in the lower contact spot. Lights click on with a bit more authority. Gave a stab at the starter switch and the breaker still pops, so sounds like handlebar switch it is.
It sounds like the later model switch pods require the later model front brake master cylinder to go with them.
Anyone upgraded and have thoughts about the 1996 to 2004 model, compared to the 2005 up? I wouldn't mind one that feels a bit less wooden, but haven't done enough digging to see if the Brembo stuff still has a brake light switch or if it uses something hydraulic hidden away in the ABS.
Cheers,
Zach
If the breaker trips when you press the start button, you probably have a wire shorting to ground somewhere after the switch.
Look for a wire that is worn bare somewhere between the start switch and the start relay, or between the relay and the starter solenoid.
