Default Rear fender

So I have a 98 wide glide and have never been a fan of the rear bobbed fender. I plan on swapping to something more along the lines of the lowrider or super glide. The only fenders I'm finding are the rwd fender for around $350 or really bad condition fenders on eBay for $200+. I cant justify $200+ for a fender that has dents and rust on it. Is the rwd fender my only option or does someone have a better place to look. Thanks in advance.

RWD?? Don't know about options but I have one in my shop off of a 96 LowRider.

If I'm not mistaken a sporty rear fender from the same time frame is pretty close if not a match. No matter what rear fender you get I would always plan on a repaint

RWD is a company that makes a bunch of parts. It Russ Wernimont Designs. TSheff how much would it take to get the fender off your hands and is it in good shape? I know I'm going to have go repaint the whole bike this winter. I'm just not looking to something that has a bunch of damage on it. I'm no body man so that's my complaint about the eBay ones. They have major flaws in the sheet metal and I'm trying to avoid that mess

I'll look into the sporty fenders, that would be nice if they fit. Seems like you only have a hand full of options for older dyna compared to sportys and softails.

I'll get it down and shoot a picture or 2. Not sure if you have enough post to PM yet.

First pic show seat rub marks with light surface pitting, the rest is as you see. Looks like the original was Burgandy/Red and someone shot BLACK over that while the taillight was still on it (not me).

The RWD is a nice fender, thick and solid, simple and clean. It's like the stock fender without that step and doesn't come down as low. I picked one up at a decent price for my FXR.

Those prices seem expensive. I'm like a buzzard up in a tree and I patiently keep my eye out for a deal. If you need now, it's expensive. I have eBay searches set up and get emails when things pop up.

I tend to be more like an eagle, looking down at that pesky buzzard! But like you just keep an eye open for genuinely good products for great prices. I have to add shipping and UK taxes on top, hence my beady eye!

Stay away from the Sporty fenders, you will be doing fabrication work as well as paint and body.

Lowrider/Superglide fender of the same year is the way to go, simple bolt on. The one offered here is a good deal.
