As long as it's a real HD manual, hard copy, with the original binding, you should be fine. Worst case the seller stiffs you, but PayPal is very buyer friendly.

You can be sure by buying at your closest dealer. They still sell them all, but will probably have to order it in.

That's what I figured, but if what I've found so far bears out, Ebay will cost $50 and the dealer would be close to $200.

I've used the dealer for a lot already and will need more in the next couple weeks. But this I might have to roll the dice on.

Related... I found a few sellers on Ebay with the 99 manual. Has anyone had experience with buying from there? Good or bad?
Thanks again
I live in the UK and have been buying Harley stuff for many years through Ebay USA, with complete satisfaction. I've never bought an FSM that way, but have noticed that some sellers are asking as much as a brand new one will cost, so simply take care. Also postage/shipping costs of a large heavy book can sometimes be quite high.

The clutch change came about for the `98 model year.
The outer primary cover and derby cover change was for `99.

Best to have the service manual and parts manual for the correct year.

As far as the FSM goes, I got one that should be here friday. So hopefully that works out well. For $50 I figured it was worth a shot.

And yeah texashillcountry I am in Austin TX. Where in the Hill Country are you?

They're not the best pictures. I took these the day I got it in my garage. So it's still dusty from a year of sitting in a shed. I'll certainly post more pictures as I start to get things the way I want them.

I'm at Nutty brown rd and 290.
I'd recommend you get rid of that Hyper-charger asap!!!
Someone spent a lot of money on that bike.

Ha. I've been on the fence about the hypercharger. I always kinda liked the hot rod/ muscle car touch it gave but I'm not totally on board with it on this bike. Plus it needs all new gaskets. Any recommendations for a replacement? Preferably not a $300 Arlen Ness thing.

You are very close to my favorite pizza joint in all of Texas. I get out that way on occasion.

I guess it depends on wither or not you plan on keeping the CV carb that is on your bike now.
If your keeping the CV then the stock round cover looks fine to me.
Then again I'm a bit biased as both of my bike have S&S tear drop air cleaner covers on them.

Pieous?????

I was just looking for air cleaners online and the Arlen Ness basic kits aren't as expensive as I thought. So I might do that. Or I'll try to track down a stock one.

And yes, Pieous. So good.
