I guess first thing is to check that the oil was getting all the way to the valve stem.
Looking at this picture, was wondering if this oil hole by the valve is angled towards the stem.

You know I'm going to have to take a closer look. I currently have everything over to a friends shop in New Jersey so i'm not going to be able to get to it right away but I will take a look at that. You got a good point. Thanks..
If you put roller rockers on any motor it does as stated above let the motor rev faster. But that's not all it does. It reduces parasitic drag. Which is free horse power. "Free being as its HP that's already there - not that rollers tip rockers are free". I PROMISE YOU IT SHOWS ON A DYNO. The other thing mentioned was reduced friction which in turn reduces heat. Now in an air cooled motor that would seem paramount.
I found this out building small block ford and chevy engines. Power adders are great but efficiency breeds HP. More than twice I put an intake or some other part that promised HP and didn't notice gains then removed a component that caused drag and to my surprise I then felt the additional ponies. I also watched a video from S&S on how long it takes for a cold evo to get oil to the rockers. They put die in the oil. Pulled the rocker boxes and used a black light to determine how long before oil hit the rockers. It took almost 2 minutes. I was appalled. I now don't touch the throttle until my bikes has been running a least 2 minutes or is already warm.
As I side point(s)
If you are going rollers which is over 400 bucks you right as well have a vendor do your rocker
assembly so the geometry is near correct at the same time-same money almost.
