Default Anyone running pm 6 pistons?

I've been having an issue with pm regarding a set of direct bolt on 6 piston calipers I purchased for an fxr. There's really not much clearance to the mags and they're insisting they fit. They went as far as to say they've sold them for 15 years with no complaints. Is anyone running an fxr/dyna/sporty with this set up?

Not me but those would be the one I would buy.

I'm sorry to hear you're not satisfied with them. I am glad to hear honest feedback however.

Im running a pm 4 pot with thunderstar wheels and its pretty tight but it clears with no rubbing. Is it the 6 pots with the integrated bracket? One issue i did have was the pads had a sharp edge i had to take a little metal off of with sandpaper. It was causing the one side to hang up and not release.

They're the newer version without the brackets. They don't touch but are close, less than 1/16th for sure. I tried them w thunderstars and 13 spokes out of curiosity and neither are any better. Here's a pic.

If the problem is the calipers are closer to the wheel than you want, why are you putting shims behind them?

Get rid of the shims on the calipers and see what's what. Like I said in your other thread, I don't think you need as much clearance as you seem to think. Anything over 1/8" is certainly fine, and you could probably get away with 3/32" or even 1/16"

Omaha is right. The wheel is only going to rotate and there is no lateral movement. If you want ill go measure mine and see how much space i have.

The shim issue comes into play because with no shim at all, the rotor sits to one side inside of the caliper. If I shim the caliper to center the rotor it will push it closer to the wheel
