Been running them on the '90 bike since '12 or '13, when I picked up the '09 bike a few years ago, the stock lights where a joke after being used to the trucklites, replaced them right away, the '17 came with good LED'S thank goodness.

I use a Trucklight on my bike. I had a ($500) HD Daymaker on the Sporty. It went bad. Got all cloudy inside. There are a lot of people who complained about that and the MoCo said "tough." I put a cheap knockoff on it and it works great. The "knockoff" was virtually identical the the HD Daymaker.
For the three light set, Google "trucklite set for Harley", and shop around.
A quick search came up with $325 and free shipping from Drivetrain America, Ebay has them for $331 free ship.
The price went down since I bought the first set years ago, was over $400,
Napa can get them also, I have an account with them and they got me the best price I could get at the time.
EDIT, I missed the FLT part, thought we were talking FLHT,so none of what I posted applies, whoops
I've got 2 7" truck lights sitting in my garage on a shelf.
1 was mine with about 200 miles on it
The other was a change out for a friend to a stock 7" with an H4 type housing. mileage unknown.
Make me an offer.
Don't the FLT's take 2 of the 7" housings? Or do they take 2 of the 5.25" housings? The ones I posted are the 7's. Just search amazon for the smaller ones if that's what you need.
FLT takes 5.25 bulbs and were sealed beams from the factory.I would also like to find a better option as there is not much space behind the buckets to play with
You can get 5.25 housings that take the H3 or H4 bulbs, or get the LED's that size. On the LED I put on the Sportster, I had to trim the heat sink fins on the back to get it to fit in the bucket. Hasn't bothered them at all.
It's an H4 Base. You are really stuck to buying stock filament bulbs, Halogen, or the LED bulbs which you have tried. Problem with the stock is they aren't bright enough. The Halogens toss out a lot of heat. The LED's don't focus the light, and you say they do not last. I think I would still go with the LED's. While they do not focus the light, they are still better than the other options as far as how much, and how far the light is that they throw. As far as longevity, do some searching in reviews. Most of them are the same model, just rebranded in a different box. There has to be some that actually last.
