Fat Spokes look great on an FL.. Don't think so on an FX...

I have Never dug Fat spokes...always wondered why the 80 spoke craze didn't incorporate smaller diameter spokes... thinking that would be a neat look...as they are...I dislike those as well...Too much Mass....

I recently sold a solid rear wheel like that one that had been polished smooth and chromed. I ran if for many rears on my FXWG.
FWIW - I like the way the FXR looks as is.

I'd leave it original.
The only thing I might change, would be going to polished stainless steel spokes up front only.
Landmark Mfg. makes these in their "Diamond" pattern. They "flash" about 65% more than straight spokes. They look awesome on a 21" hoop too.
