So I have been yakking in other threads about my new to me bike....I finally got some non hollow mufflers installed....and decided I could sneak out for a quick ride and gas fillup. Now, my Harley Experience is restricted to Sportsters in various states of tune, and I have ridden lots of other bikes...but I had no idea a Harley tourer could pick the front end up if you want it to! I don't know if it has had any mods in its lifetime, but I can tell this bike is not going to complain in going wherever I would like to go. Even fully loaded I think it's got ooomph to spare. Here's to the Evo engines!

If you have a bagger doing wheelies then it ain't stock.
BTW pictures posted elsewhere don't count unless you provide a link to the pictures...
Well the pic is floating around in another thread....here...somewhere....however...I did share it on a Triumph site that I still go into and make trouble. That said, I'll need a goodly trip on this bike, but the last time it was inspected was 2011, so I got to fix up all the stuff which has prevented it's passing at inspection. That is going as fast as Amazon and Ebay and all the moto vendors can ship. But alas my work intervenes as well....my impression beyond the happy takeoff behavior, is that the powerband is relatively narrow and I expected that....I am all about the torque anyway, and this one seems to have it in spades. I have the suspension somewhat stiffly inflated and that may contribute to things...
Yep, externally, she looks pretty well stock....as it stands there isn't anything I need to do...but with 73000 miles, I am sure the top end could stand to be freshened up. And heck while I would be at it, a Super E carb and an EV13 cam and lifters...just because. Frankly, the bike might well be running the way it was designed and having no experience with the big HD's I did not know what to expect. My Rocket 3 which I crashed would do all that but the difference is there was no powerband to speak of....it was ***** to the wall from idle to way past your ability to stand it anymore.....so I never knew what that bike could do in total. I understood Harley Tourers to be big on torque but in no particular hurry to get anywhere...since that suits my actual way of travel that suits me....but what I am getting in the seat of the pants tells me there's more to the story.....that's fine too. And maybe I won't miss my Rocket too much. It had hollowed out stock tapered mufflers and I put some Wyatt Gatling baffled mufflers. The bike did not run bad with the empty cans though it was loud beyond sensibility, leading me to believe that the carb is properly tuned for that. The new cans are responding well, and while baffles take the edge off they are by no means quiet. IF the carb is tuned for free flowing pipes, that could enhance performance though my thinking is that the powerband would move up also. I need more riding to sort out what the bike likes to do. And what it doesn't like...

If as you say that bagger pops wheelies then at some time in the past someone has already been in there.
My point is that 73k miles is from when the bike was new not from when someone rebuilt that motor.
Why would you want to change the cam and carb if the motor is already running that good?????????????
OP, an 80" Evo bagger will not pull the front wheel up unless it's a stout build - based on mine it would have to be at least 80\80. Do yourself a favor and get a baseline dyno pull so you know where you're at - you might mess up a good thing. You need a baseline to know what you have and not be a Ready, Fire, Aim guy.
