Hello, I have a 1994 FXSTC (Softail Custom)
I'm doing a Bunch of Custom Work right now.
I'll mention the Details and post pics Later.
Now let me Get to it. I'm planning on tearing apart my motor down to the cases.( not splitting the cases) so far this is my plan.
WIESCO 10:1 STD. OR +.10 OVER PISTONS
FEULING TITANIUM VALVE SPRING/RETAINER KIT
ANDREWS HIGH LIFT VALVE SPRINGS
ANDREWS CHROMOLLY ADJUSTABLE PUSH RODS
JIMS ROLLER ROCKERS AND HYDROSOLID TAPPET
EITHER FEULING REAPER 518 CAM
Or ANDREWS EV51 maybe even ANDREWS EV59
I'm Possibly Running A Screamin Eagle Holley Carb
(Yes I know they didn't last long for a Reason)
Or a Weber dual intake. A 2-1 Thunderheader.
And A Single Fire Ignition by either S&S or Dynatek.
And Black Diamond Valves, Vitron Seals.
And porting and Polishing the Heads.
Two totally different cams. My choice would be the 51 if I had to choose between the 2. BUT... with that build the Woods W6 would do an awesome job. An with any cam of 40*+ ivc, I would bring the compression up to 10.2:1for the Woods cam and maybe a tad more for the 51....
Stage II on the heads. A good Porter will know what needs to be done.. most likely 1.90/1.61 on the valves and a good Port job.. Beehive springs seem to be the go to... I know your in Cali and I know there are a lot of shops out there but if you don't mind shipping your parts with you doing the labor, there's a couple of guys on the east coast that could do what your looking for.. Hillside, kirby- Veetwin,WFO Larry, there are many out there..
Second on the Call Hillside cycle in Munnsville NY, he’s on here, you will be stokedwith the results, I am running what you are thinking about with a W6 Cam
