The plugs are clean.
It's tuned... seemingly well.
It's a pleasure to ride.

While running well, at best it delivers about 29.5 MPG.
When I keep the tach at or above 3000, the MPG goes down... but the engine purrs.

With no complaints or concerns, I'm curious what kind of mileage other vintage Evo riders are getting.
Will changing the carburetor jets improve the mileage per gallon?

Comments?
When I had a Evo powered EG (98 1340cc with carb) it regularly got 45 mpg under normal riding.

Ester (89 FLHS) got around 42-45 most of the time, I could flog her and get into the low 30's though. 1340, CV carb, S2000 ignition.

From some reading and looking, your jet(s) may be ovalled...would account for rich mix.

With my 87 flhs, with mostly interstate driving I got 28.5. That's going 80, running about 3800 rpm

I don't know - you tell Bob Wood what you have for a build and they tweak the carb for the engine specs. It was on the bike when I bought it 14 years ago and the only time it was touched was when I traded the Thunderheaders for the Supertrapps. When I checked it on Thursday it was over 49 MPG, it's an awesome carb.
