Setting ignition timing question
My book is an hour away. Nightrider post is helpful, but in confused on rpm to set timing.
Do you set it at idle, or 1500rpm? I'm using a mac digital dial-back light with, if that makes any difference. Also has a digital rpm read-out so i can get my rpm dead-on

Leave the timing light set to zero, use the thumbscrew on the throttle to hold the RPM's up and then hunt for the timing mark. If your engine speed is above 1500 RPM's then your timing is adjusted according to specs when the light is showing the "advance mark" which could be the dot or the line depending on the year of your engine.
Good luck with it and keep the oil spray out of your eyes! YD
