Default stupid flat tire!

So I'm pushing the bike into the garage after work the other day and I noticed she ain't being all that cooperative. The next morning my suspicions were realized when I found the big screw in my rear tire. Got all the parts on order. Should be here Thursday if I didn't get lied to. If anyone is interested, you can get everything to do this job here: https://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/ This is the old Jake Wilson site. I believe they are pretty competitive pricing and their delivery looks fairly quick. I bought my tire from Dennis Kirk but next time I'll use these guys. They even have the oil seals so you can service your wheel bearings.

The tire I removed was a Dunlop American Elite. I had never replaced one before and I was happy that it came off the rim as easily as it did. It almost seems easier than the D402s.

I could tell a big difference when I put those American Elites on my bike. Much better tire. Better grip and wears better as well.

Yes your right. I mixed up the tires was thinking the 400 was the HD Dunlap that came with the bike. By the way I called Dunlap about the American elite and they told me they about the same tire as the stock HD Dunlap..

The stock HD Dunlop is a 402.
As for what Dunlap told you all I can say is try each and you will feel the difference which isn't anywhere near the same.

When I changed my tires the last time I went with Michelin they were little better but I only got 16500 out of the back after this back wares out going back to Dunlap am eagle Used 3 pairs before the Michelins got 18000 or better out of the backs. As you see I put miles on them.

IMO the mileage you get out of a tire is way less important than the grip it has.
