Do yourself a favor and pick up a service manual, your going to need it to maintain your bike.
First remove the headlight bucket, on each side there are 2 studs with nuts on the inside that clamp the outer fairing to the inner fairing. I believe thy are 7'/16" and you'll find a ratcheting closed end wrench is your friend. On each side of the bottom of the outer fairing remove the bolt that goes into the lower triple tree. Last remove the 5 bolts that hold the windshield on.
Reverse the order to reinstall.
