Ya, there is a small roller bearing on the right side, it's not that big of a bearing and should be gone or making noise with the addition of clutch lever play you talking about. Just checked the adjustment at the clutch the other day because of gaining some clutch handle free play and believe I'm heading for a cable replacement shortly because the cable adjuster if spun out pretty good and the adjustment at the clutch was ok.

I'm going to pull of the cover to view my roller ramp and see if my cable looks frayed. I'm also going to take a look at the TOB. once I pull the cover off can I just pull out the TOB to check it out? or does it have washers inside to worry about?
Whatever you find wrong, a new TOB wouldn't hurt to throw in, but I would inspect it first. Drain the trans and primary oils and look for metal shavings on the plug magnets.
well it doesn't look that bad. I did notice that clutch adjusting nut did seem a little stuck on the plate that ( the one that's snap ringed into the inside of the clutch basket. maybe I didn't seat it well?
I also feel like its pretty dirty for having less than 100 miles on primary oil. the push rod doesn't look bad to me either.
I think I found the problem. its my cable. the top half of my clutch cable does not move freely, I cant move it at all actually . Also my clutch ramp has a warn spot. is that normal and ok to use still? HD book says it should have no wear. seems to move freely though.
