Outgoing FXLR Incoming FLSTN
So as much fun as the FXLR was it was just too cramped and uncomfortable for my aging hips !
So ... picked up a 95 FLSTN which wasn't overall as nice as the FXLR but with less miles and less owners and quite a bit of paperwork ...
This was it when I got it
I managed to pick up a new set of seats that had been removed and stored for 20+ years
Put on a set of Burly Bikini Bars
Replacement lever set inc brake resevoir - again had been taken off a 93 when new and stored
Some standard slip ons to replace the really poor and really loud pipes
All oils changed
Brake fluids changed and flushed
New speedo drive as the old one rattled like a good un !
Dunlop 402 tyres
Indicator relocation kit
To do :
Replace / rebuild rear wheel as the chrome is shot
Maybe swop the swing arm as the paint has been badly touched in without proper prep - so I'm thinking it will be quick just to change it with a good one.
Biggest issue at the moment is that it has the CV carb coughing on the first 1/4 throttle ... so ideas on this most welcome.
There doesn't seem to be a leak from the manifold and I've some new plugs on order.
The carb has been sonic cleaned.
It runs perfectly if the choke is left on a fraction
Feel free to correct me or point me in a different direction but I was going to check the mixture screw next (it looks like the plug has already been removed)
Anyway - pics as it stands at the moment
Cheers
Simon

I've tried turning the mixture screw but it seems stuck fast so will proceed carefully !!
