This is the '97-'98 ECM, a necessary upgrade for the earlier bikes to use PC, etc.

I believe the M & M bikes prior to 1997 have the option of using the Cobra Fi2000 unit.
A simple unit with three screws that are turned to add fuel in a range.
J & P cycle has it online and you can see installation instructions and how to turn each pot.
It attaches at injectors as a plug situation and you add a ground to battery, looks rather simple.
For a simple air cleaner and pipes situation it looks like enough.
One thing...many folks get older bikes and start thinking performance, power and horsepower.
They want to add air cleaners, pipes and more....spending money on adding things.
Often forgetting to check things like throttle body manifold leaks, unmeasured air entering system due to bad gaskets, rocker cover leaks, exhaust leaks and more.
Same folks then add a fuel adder trying to mask a problem and that complicates diagnostics.
Then sadness is experienced when they figure out that $500- $800 dollars have been spent and bikes operates worse.
Before adding anything, make sure bike is perfect first.
