Oh and... I would not say my boys '07 Dyna was "Just like" my Brother in laws 1995 Dyna either!!!
My 02 Dyna is and was of the FX Super Glide Platform. Harley usually doesn't change much of the platform/series of the FX's just different gingerbread like extra chrome side strips or a new badge or some sort, chain drive to Belt, kick start to E-start,4 spd to 5 spd,fat bob tank to the one piece tank, ect. ect.. Yes the frame was a little differently but it was still a FX platform and with that said the Dyna was in the same FX platform. I think I understand your Quote but if not enlighten me please.

All of the above info was obtained form Googling, and here's where the info came from = Harley-Davidson Super Glide Wikipedia.

Just wrong. I didn't go to wikipedia either to verify, but.....
Engine is the same but the primary, transmission, frame and its costly gussets are simply different. The mid controls on the fxr won't even bolt over to a Dyna. The running gear is FL and not fx. Tanks, now you got me there, I don't know about those.

Lots the same but much different than you've been led to believe.

Let's go back to basics, shall we? There is no such thing as a single FX platform, whatever you mean by that. There have been the original FX, the FXR, the FXD and currently the 'new' FX, with a different frame for each of those. In addition, they have between them used shovelhead engines, Evos, both twincams and the latest M8. There is nothing common across all those, except for the use of the letters 'FX' in their designations. That hardly qualifies for being called a single 'platform'. The name 'Super Glide' was simply a styling concept, one of several including Wide Glide and others, used across most of those frames.

Good googling and the interweb is never wrong... But... I would never confuse your Dyna with any 4-speed iteration of the SuperGlide... look it up, even NADA knows the Difference..
the Dyna "Gingerbread" engine Change and the Transmission change??? do they Count???
You need to educate yerself someplace besides the Interweb me thinks...

Forgiven!

Some of us have been around since the original Super Glide was introduced, it having been 'invented' by Willie G himself. I myself bought an early one new, so have seen many changes in the H-D range over the years and plenty of us in here have similar stories to tell....
