Default Fat boy engine trouble

Just got back from an interesting ride. Took my 1998 fat boy out tonight and at a part in the ride there was a fire truck spraying their water hose and i hd to drive through basically a wall of water and immediately after i started having problems accelerating in all gears so i pulled over and drove around a parking lot and it continued. I waited a few hours and was still having the same trouble. It sound like its about to stall pulling out in 1st gear, then in all the other gears i would crank the throttle and the rpm’s would rise but barely accelerate. In 5th gear i would try to accelerate and at a certain rpm it would start to slow down instead of accelerating. Never made it over 60. Hopefully someone has experience with a harley getting soaked and malfunctioning like this. This is my first harley and im still new to everything so id appreciate some help from you evo guys.

Let it dry out in the sun, probably wet the wires, coil etc. if you have access to an air gun ,go over it

If it was bad enough could it be a soaked air filter not letting enough air in? When you clean the reusable ones they always tell you to let it dry out before using again. Just a thought.

Thanks for the help, im probably going to pick up a new air filter just in case but i tried running it with the air cleaner cover off to see if it was the filter and it still had the problem. Someone also told me to through some sea foam in the gas to clean it out which i might try

^^^ This is my suspicion as well....
Note that you removed the filter but still have problem??? Tells me you do Not have a K&N... Something I rectify immediately.. but, yer gonna need to re-tune for more air with a K&N...

Actually just found out with a buddy that its an electrical problem. Its only firing on one cylinder and its not the spark plugs because i tried 2 brand new ones. So now i have to figure out why the back cylinder isnt firing.

What ignition are you running, Single or dual fire? Did you check for spark on the rear cylinder?

I'd start by swapping the plug wires on the coil.

If that doesn't fix it, then new plug wires.

Yeah i checked for spark on the rear cylinder and got nothing with 2 new plugs. Front cylinder sparked fine. Thanks for the help though I’ll definitely look into it
