Default Evo case questions

I have a line on a 93 FLHS without an engine, trans and primary are still on the bike, and I can get it pretty cheap. Other than the missing engine the bike looks to be in good condition.

1.) Will my 87 case bolt to primary?

2.) Do I have to change to a 93^ oil pump or can I just plumb it with my present pump?

87 engine no problem, the oil pump will also not be an issue.

You will have to figure a way to mount the oil filter, the later Evo engines had the filter mounted to the right side crankcase up front, maybe that mount will work on the `87 engine, I don`t know... But either way, that is a small thing to figure out.

Sounds like a fun project, I wish I could stumble onto something like that.

Looking at pics it seemed they changed to the oil tank below the trans mid year in 93...if it has the oil tank below the trans...the oil return fitting to the tank, and the vent fitting to the motor will try to occupy the same space...

this can be solved by moving the oil return to the oil fill...pretty simple drill and tap for a fitting...

Thanks it looked like it was possible with a little work, and it is a late 93 with the oil tank under the trans.

NOW lets see if I really can get it for cheap......
