If this was asked already, I can't find it on this forum. Any motor heads know the biggest engine that'll fit into a 1996 electra glide frame ? and how involved re wiring the system for said engine would likely be ? Thanks in advance.
S&S 124".
Wiring it would be a piece of cake compared to modifying the rest of the drivetrain enough to handle it.
S&S 117" is about as big as you can go with a stock tranny, but you'll still tear up the clutch, belt, and sprockets eventually.
Belts aren't easy to change. Any change that big is going to affect other components. Just not worth it on a '96.

You talkin EFI to carb wiring or do you already have a carb?
Will need a bigger clutch, good exhaust, good oil cooler and a Harley SE side car belt to hold the beast.
i have a 98 e-glide with an Ultima 120 they say the 127 will fit.. i know the 120 is close with the 4.25" stroke, i think the 127 is a 4.50"... so another 1/4 inch taller. should fit.
i went with a Barnett clutch kit and a screaming eagle spring. tried the scorpion and it was too grabby for me (for sale btw) and i always run a 2into1 exhaust. the engine came with its own ignition it was pretty much bolt in..

With a bit of surgery you can squeeze in an S&S 145", if you can find one! I believe there is an Ultima of similar size - perhaps a 140"? What mischief are you up to?!

yup Ultima has a 140 but you'll have to get to cutting to make it fit. lol
