I replaced the idle cable some months back... while removing the old cable the spring went “ping”, never to be found again. How it wasn’t wound around the inner cable I don’t know!
I picked up a replacement spring from a dealer.
This springs diameter is too large to fit in the cable guide and too small to go over the cable ferrule!!!
I can understand the ferrule part, but not cable guide.
Yeah, I’ve never had a throttle or idle cable with a ferrule on the end either!
I guess I’ll just reassemble without a spring, the ferrule is almost a pressure fit in the cable guide.

Either that or just buy a new idle cable or depending on age replace both cables.
I like Barnett.
Not a bad idea to just replace both cables. I installed a Barnett clutch cable last fall, one of those coated jimmies... made a believer out of me, don’t think I’ll buy anything other than Barnett cables going forward.

I know I won't unless it's an emergency like I broke a cable on a trip then I'd buy any damn thing I could find but I would replace it with a Barnett as soon as I got home.
