Ha, just saw this pop up...my fxr project got sidelined for a little while...I got my road king sold then my truck's transmission started slipping, so a lot of spent money later...I have to wait until I can swing it again....anything around the 90"s seems to be near 5k asking prices so I'm still kicking around the idea of an earlier model...when I do, i will definitely post up a build thread. Just something satisfying about taking an old beat up evo and bringing them back to life.

Bought my 82 shovel FXR new, fantastic bike. My brother now owns it, never any problems.

FXR on my wish list, dealership has 82 for stupid money, looking at 88 so maybe, have time to get ready for Texas EVO meet.

How much is stupid money? Looks like with your collection the shovel is the way to go. Evos are common, shovels (82 & 83) not so much.

IMHO, unless it's from the Eisenhower administration or earlier, "barn find" is bullshit. It just means "dirty and old".
