After 2 years of the 111 I'm seriously considering putting my EVO motor back in and selling the 111.
The power is nice but 90% of the time I can't use it because of the roads I like to ride.
I kinda miss the look of the EVO motor sitting in the frame.
I am going to campaign for a Street ridden Dresser Class at the Harley drags for next year...
I am fully capable of enjoying my 80" Shovel to ride... if I need more... I have a 10 second Sportster... be alot of fun to have a Street bagger...with a Decent Engine... to show off at the Harley Drags....
See ya there...
Not just nuts but nucking futs. I'd say why not ? My 80" has as much power as I can imagine needing and I agree most of the time I don't get to use what I have. Building a hot rod around that 111 could be fun though...
No your not nuts..... I like the fact that other riders can't believe the amount of power my Evo generates... Now that you have those heads you might as well put them to good use... A good set of pistons a cam and an S$S E and you'll forget all about that 111"er...
You know, I was more less keeping up with a guy who is known to ride hard and fast (chopper with S&S 111) , with my 92 FLHTCU. I thought my motor at least had a cam in it. Turns out it still had the factory N cam and the original bearing. Now it has an EV-13 and runs pretty darn nice. Nothing wrong with that old 80.
I had a 140hp bike, and while a stock 80 doesn't tick all the boxes... one that's putting out 75 hp and 75ftlbs of torque is just about right for my taste these days. Doesn't have to break the rear tire loose, or make ya hesitate on dew covered roads in the morning with a sane amount of throttle applied.
I’s love q spare bike. Sporty perhaps?
Might have to break down and pick one up.
Then when one needs time to heal, or I just need a different pace for the day. I have an option.
Not a builder, but i have a four year old grandson. And he is LOL
