I picked up an FXR but at some point the ignition switch bracket had been cut off. I plan on welding in a new bracket for the switch, but does anyone have the measurement for how far the bracket sticks out from the frame? I don't want it to be too short that the switch is going to hit the head or too long that it sticks out too far. So if anyone can get me that quick measurement i'd appreciate it.
Out [toward ya] 2" [bend starts at 1-3/4] then down such that the switch body is centered at about an Inch..
Good as I can do with the stuff all jammed into the barn!!!
Thanks for the measurement. Any other measurements out there like the width of the bracket or length of the bracket part that holds the switch?
Hard to get that unless the frame is Naked..
PM me your Info and I will try to get a photo...
the bracket is the width you have [unless thay was modified also... simply pokes out to the side and then makes a right angle Down.. rounded as one would expect...with the hole basically centered in the downward "ear"
