Default Cruise control

Good Afternoon
Ok, so I have a 95 E. Glide.
I swapped out the OEM carb for a S and S Super E.
Bike runs great but I lost cruise.
I want it back.
So I checked with S and S webiste and they have a kit that retrofits cruise to the Super E. But they say it is for 96 and up.
Has anyone ever tried this kit on a 94-95?
Has anyone ever had cruise on a E. Glide 94-95 with a Super E without the kit?
Thanks
JM

My cruise doesn't work either, due to broken switch on bars. Get a Throttle Rocker II...cheap, works great. Or you can open your wallet. Just my ,02. Ken

I'm curious and this will fan the flames of the debate - what prompted the decision to swap carbs ? Was there a noticable difference between the two ? How much work to get it dialed in ? I've had both but the E was on a stock, no power shovelhead so it was difficult to gauge how well it performed. The CV on my Evo works awesome but the engine has been beefed up.

Reason for the swap was just to start from "brand new". The old carb had a plugged up slow jet, and since this bike had sat pretty much idle for 20 years I was concerned about how much of the rest of the carb was plugged up. They don't make brand new CV carbs anymore, at least not through Harley. So I asked around and the Super E seems to be the go-to carb for these engines as well as custom builds on other engines. Swapped that carb, manifold, air cleaner and throttle cables (+6 from Dennis Kirk) out and my son-in-law did some screwdriver magic and it runs. As importantly, it starts without a lot of BS. Its not super powerful, not like my Twin Cams, but it wasn't with the old carb either. But it suits my needs very well.

So I want to get my cruise function back, on a 95, with Super E, if possible.
Thanks
JM

Best $30 you'll ever spend. Used one on my Shovelhead and an now on the Heritage Classic.

I've got a similar throttle lock on one of my bikes but the issue I have with it is climbing hills - my speed falls way off, I have to disengage the lock, speed up get over the hill, re-engage again. It seems to work OK on level roads but I found it unusable if hills are involved.

Increase the torque in your motor and go a little faster and the hills aren't much of a problem.
At least that has been my experience.

If all the parts but the carb are still the same it's just a matter of connecting the cable from the stepper motor to the throttle plate. I had to come up with a way to connect the cable from an aftermarket automotive style cruise to my Mikuni carb. Turned out to be a lot less complicated than I thought. You'll need to be able to do some minor fab work for the bracket. It helps if you lose the second " push " cable to the carb.

It's not the one with the CV. It's the adventure bike and not worth hopping up.

Not with the Vista Cruise. Once you have the acorn nut adjusted properly you can make throttle adjustments without disengaging the lock or with just a couple flips of the thumb off and on again. I love it.
