There should be a nut and bolt supply around you somewhere

Fastenal has a few locations on Long Island. You can order all sorts of fasteners via their website (or go to their store) and pickup your fastener.

I thought I read somewhere that when you run one of those all ***** starters you should use heavier duty battery cables. Did you install larger cables?

For longer bolts, try McMaster Carr online. If they don't have it , you don't need it.

I thought mine came with everything I needed. I could take a pic tomorrow. It's late.

OK, I looked. Here's a picture of that mount:

There, did you see it? That is, it's not there because I left it out. Extra pieces, add lightness and it's been working great.

Yeah, I left it off. That's what I said, above. I remember now that it didn't fit on the new one, so I left it off. The new starter is smaller than the old one anyway. No problems without that bracket.

Don. Are you talking about the bolts that attach the starter motor to the starter housing? What is the original motor, Hitachi? and what are the old bolts 12-24? What are the new bolts size.. I'm trying to get an idea without pics. I had to modify my starter on my shovel that was a Hitachi but went with a Prestolite. There Prestolite had has different mounting bolts than the Hitachi.
