Last week I did all the crimping/heat shrink associated with the front connectors
Yesterday I put the battery in, temporarily connected the rear signals and tail light wiring and hit the switch
All the lights come on including the oil light (everything has new bulbs except the two inside the speedo)
I'm getting an audible click about every 3 to 5 seconds from a relay attached at the bottom of the dash and every light, including headlight, oil light and my test light, no matter where I put it does a blink. The only switch that is working is my high/low beam and nothing happens when I hit the start button. When you hold in the horn button, on occasion whenever the lights blink the horn does a slight death rattle.
On wiring, the only things I cut loose were the ones going to the switch paks, headlight and signals. I not only took many pictures of every wire placement I also mapped it out on paper and wrote every A to B cut down as I cut. Very **** in this so I'm 99% sure its not the splicing.
That's not a relay. It's a circuit breaker. You have a short.
Yes, it's an automatic reset circuit breaker. So it is tell you that something tied into it is shorting out. As mentioned, time to start tracing things back and going over your work. Good luck, take your time, go slow, you will find it. YD

Yup. Easy but tedious. One wire at a time. Just a guess but when you made the pull inside the bars there is a wire rubbing. As TSHEFF said, get the meter out.
A way I do a wiring job is to blow up and print out the diagram (hopefully you have the fsm) then use a highlighter to eliminate as you go to be sure you don't miss anything. If after that you still have a short, start unplugging some circuits to pinpoint the problem.Good luck.
What model year are the handle bar control switches ?
Not sure. Seems like everything has been replaced on this bike.

The wires in the bars never got pulled. everything from the switchpaks/bars are unchanged.
I only pulled the left switchpak off earlier today to inspect the wires/look for a pinched wire. I'll pull the right side after work tomorrow and start tracing down the gremlin. Has to be a pinched wire somewhere
