Made in China...and the insulation is a soy By-product... not rubber...
mice Eat It!!!
No Mice?? No Problem!

BTW putting a Finger on the Breakers will identify the one breaking... at minimum find the colored wire emanating from the offending breaker..
Orange is accessory, Blue is lighting, and generally Grey is Ignition...

You're like the Gandhi of motorcycle repairs. I've seen you on Harley tech forum as well. Thank you for the help you always provide. Just awesome to have someone like you on the web willing to give the correct info all the time.

The wiring looked good when I had it off and cleaned it up. No green anywhere, not bright, but good Cooper.

Just so you know those switches aren't OEM to your bike.
That style didn't come out until '96 and the switches them selves were black not chrome.

As mentioned before you have a short.
Gonna need a DVM, beer, and quite a bit of patients from here on out.

The `96 switches don`t connect exactly like the `95 and earlier switches, you will need wiring diagrams for the switches also (I recently installed `96 type switches on my `89 Softail).

Tell us exactly what you did to the wiring.

I cut the wire dead center where the PO had cut it. About 6" away from the pin connectors that plug into under the right side of the tank.
I cut loose the headlight, turn signals, tail light, handle bars.
Every cut was mapped out on paper as I cut, and I took pictures of the connectors as I went.
The PO used those plastic covered butt connectors, and heat shrunk
I used a non coated/insulated butt connector with a proper crimping tool and heat shrink
On the pulled main harness I labeled as I disconnected.

Next chance I get, I'll pull off the right switch pak, check for any pinched wires at the grip and with both paks exposed showing the wire colors trace every single wire that I cut, from point A to the connector

All the wires up front are neat and straightforward. Just the one cut per wire, and the color coded wires are clearly visible
The back end is a mess from the PO when he switched over to the Dyna S, not visually presentable but manageable.

I'm fully convinced that I have only 5 OEM parts on this bike

Frame
Primary
Tranny
Rear tire
I'm saying engine, but it has been tinkered with

Good thing I'm a jack of all trades and a master at none, I do love a challenge.

If you're up to it a couple of us are riding up to the Bluebonnet Cafe Monday the 23rd, weather permitting, for some Christmas Pies and grub. Probably going the back way not far from you. Last time we came up RR12 heading towards Hamilton pool.
