Default Obsolete Part

Hey guys, I'm looking for a right saddlebag guard for my 93 FLHS. Mine has a really deep scratch (actually is ground down), do to the accident I was in, back in August. It's Harley part number 49176-93. This guard does not have the extra holes for additional bag guards. In 1997 the frame design changed, so the guards from that era won't work. The MoCo has obsoleted this part, and the only one I've seen on eBay is scratched. Anyone know where I can put my hands on either a NOS or very good used one?

Have you had your local dealer do a nation wide search to see if any other dealerships have that part in inventory?

I've had very good luck with everything I've purchased from Pinwall Cycle Salvage. They dismantle some Harleys, it might be worth contacting them, they're very honest with their descriptions and will send you pics of the parts. The last few times I bought, the condition exceeded my expectations.

You might find that the cost of sending it out for replating ( they'll fill the grind marks too ) might not be as much as a new one ??? Atlantic Coast does nice work ... I'm sure there are others

I found one at JWBoon...follow link, then go to page 94 and scroll down. The only thing is that they only ship within Europe.

Same thing with NOS Parts. http://www.nosparts.info/cgi-bin/dbs...cur=GBP&nh=223

Do this. It won't take a minute. However; if you get a bonehead parts guy at your local dealership, you can call corporate and they will do a search for you. I got a part this way once.
