It was bugging me so I went out to blow some air in the left side bottom tube and the air only came out of the tube inside the cap area. An overflow.
The PO had nothing running from this line. Any overflow would drip on top of the engine. Time for a mod.
Noticed you didn't tape off the openings, better clean all the paint out the cap and fitting area's, maybe inside also, or a plugged petcock screen and no reserve fuel may be in your future, my OCD would of taped or pulled the grommets too.

I shoved paper towels into the openings and had them about 1/2" below the top lip. Before all that I to clean a lot of crap off the sides of the filler neck. The PO put some yellowish sealer on to keep his bungs from leaking gas cause he had crap gaskets on the underside of those screw in bungs and the gas caused some lift on his paint.
To avoid the same problem I'm thinking about sanding down the upper inside lip to clean metal and applying some sort of super sealer so my new gas cap gaskets seal tight on the tank.
If anyone has a better idea or a recommendation for the super sealer fire away. I need all the help I can get so I don't screw up all my hard work.
THC called last night and straightened me out on the vent tube I pictured coming out of the tank filler and bottom of right tank. It's to make sure you get vent due to vented caps are not always working. I have to run a tube down to beside the rear tire. The PO had nothing attached to it.
On plain gloss black DUO gas caps, there are none out there in the web pages. The duo ones out there have some sort of cutsey thing on em.
