I have to say that I've not seen frictions with that much fluid on them.. what are you using in the primary and how much.. how many ounces.. but they do look very healthy..
Using type f in primary, in amount spec'd in manual.
Clutch and compensator off. Basket bearing and clutch shaft bearing look good on inspection, spin freely. Work has been done on clutch before, but not correctly. There was a friction plate between the damper spring and damper spring seat. Probably why I couldn't adjust out my clutch drag.
I'm gonna put it all back together and see what's what. If noise persists, on to the inner primary. Ken
Ok, now I see the narrow friction plate is supposed to be between the spring and seat. The spring seat should come out also, but doesn't. Ring in pic must be it?
Cleaned everything up, put it back together. 28 oz type f. Fired it up, noise is gone. Mystery to me, but not complaining. Goin' for a ride. Thanks, guys. Ken
The only thing I could make out in that vid is chain noise, like in loose. Or maybe worn adjuster shoe..
After installing, set chain tension to 1/2-5/8". As you stated, I think it may have been a loose chain. Have constant smooth chain noise now.
800 miles since and all is good. Glad I pulled it all apart to check bearings...peace of mind. Shoe has a little wear, have an extra on hand. Ken
Is the noise noticeable only at stops? Or also when you’re moving?
And if its only noticeable at stops? Do you hear the noise both with the clutch cable pulled? Or even in nuetral?
