Default Open electrical connector under tank

Have my tanks off my '97 Fatboy while I'm changing rocker box gaskets.

Saw this open 3-pin connector along the right side under the tank. Curious if anyone knows what it's for? The pins are pretty tight so it's hard to get a multimeter in there.

My 98 Ultra has that same connector....

I assume it was for an accessory or something for California models that the rest of us didn’t get.

Funny, I just now tracked it down and was about to post the answer to my own question.

Apparently, it's for a "Trapdoor Solenoid (Calif. Only)" according to my service manual.

I'm adding running lights and thought maybe it might be some kind of aux power I could tap into. Good thing I didn't just hack into it.

Know on a bagger the white wire with black tracer is ignition power controlled by the handle bar on/off switch

Yeah I've been looking for one of those "trap door" air cleaner back plates for a long time. It would be awesome for cold weather riding. Found a few over the years but wouldn't go the bucks they were asking....
