Quick question about rocker gaskets

Changing the gaskets out and reinstalling my rocker boxes...

I have the James gasket kit, which comes with new umbrella valves. Wondering if I should change those or leave the OEM ones in?

The James ones are really thin and flexible. Original stock ones are firmer, almost like plastic.

Since I wasn't having any problems before, I'm inclined to leave the original umbrella valves in. Or should I put the new James ones in?

Absolutely, Change them!
They are supposed to be flexible.

Thats the issue with old umbrella valves. When they get old- they get harder. I would replace them anytime i have the rockers open. I used James with no issues. If you have 2nd thoughts of James quality- go buy some OEM ones. Cheap insurance. My 2 cents.

I have not seen a good after market umbrella valve.. Even the Cometic ones are very cheap.. Harley has a green one that is superior to all.. 26856-89a
